Hello Tulips!

One more day of sunshine and we will seriously be in business.

Goodbye Outhouse

Rafter bookshelves

Stash the books in the rafters! Another great idea from Bookshelf Porn. We’re going to be putting a sleeping loft in our one-room cabin (where spatial efficiency is a definite necessity), and this design will. be. implemented.

Out with the old and in with the new

Despite their beauty, these carrots have already been stewed. In memory . . .

And here is a little grab box of garlic – recently filled with Music, Russian Purple and three Elephants.

Planted: Honeycrisps (!) and Stellas

Apple and cherry trees, that is.

Studio space

I have a new studio corner. I’d like to hang out here all day.

Before and after

After a summer of cottage deconstruction, we are calling a seasonal moratorium on big, messy projects. Now we can cozy in, and get the place ready for crisp and lovely weekend retreats.

Amongst the big accomplishments: the wood stove is in. Now we just have to gather the firewood!

Chimney removal

So after putting a new wood stove in the cabin, we had to remove the old gas chimney. We found out that it is much heavier than it looks. With me pushing up from the inside and Kat pulling up from the roof, we finally managed to get that sucker down!
